The Services We’ll Offer from our New Centre…
Our mission is to help everyone affected by cancer in Ayrshire and our newest centre will be the first to offer bespoke areas, specially designed for children and young people as well as adults. As a centre for everyone, we will extend the reach of our free services to meet the growing demand for cancer support services across Ayrshire. The centre will host counselling, complementary therapies, support groups and wellbeing services. You’ll also be able to find information about cancer and arrange free patient transport to take you or a loved one to their cancer treatment at hospital.
HOSPITAL TRANSPORT
Delivered by our volunteer drivers, you will be able to arrange appointments in person at our Ayr Centre, or over the phone.
Drop-In Centre
Our drop-in centre will provide a warm, friendly environment to enjoy a coffee and a chat, or to pick up cancer specific literature.
Adult Counselling
Private and comfortable counselling rooms will be available to provide well-being support to people affected by cancer.
Children and Young People’s Services
Our bespoke rooms will host Children and Young People’s cancer support services including counselling and play therapy.
SUPPORT GROUPS and shared experience
Our new Ayr Centre will play host to support groups for men, women and young people in a range of cancer specific themes.
Cancer Nurse and Information
We will offer private consultations with our specialist cancer nurse and provide a purpose-built library full of helpful resources.
Complementary Therapies
Specialist therapy rooms will be created to offer a range of complementary therapies to help alleviate the symptoms of cancer.
Podiatry Service
A podiatry service will be available to those who are experiencing problems with their feet, or lower legs, and require assistance.
